I am a wife, a mother of two sons, a life-long reader, wanderer, and daydreamer. When I'm not at the kitchen sink on my yoga mat, or hunched over a computer keyboard, I spend too much time worrying about things that are out of my hands anyway, and not enough savoring life's simple pleasures: stillness, friendship, poetry, a walk in the woods. But, I'm learning.I write to remind myself of the things I already know, to stay in touch with my wiser self. And also to make sure that I do pause long enough each day to appreciate life as we live it - right here, right now.About the book:"Watching my sons growing and changing so visibly, almost from one day to the next, I sensed something in me breaking loose and changing as well, something no less powerful for being invisible. It was almost as if, having strived for years for predictable comforts, urban conveniences, and security of our well-established routines, I was suddenly haunted by all the things I hadn't done, the dreams that might never be realized, the sense that the tidy, civilized life we'd worked so hard to create didn't quite fit the person I really was, or, rather, still thought I might be."-from The Gift of an Ordinary DayKatrina Kenison illuminates many mothers' most intimate fears and desires by so poignantly describing her own. Through the tumult of relocating from a Boston suburb to a small New England town, her sons' adolescent years, the challenges of new schools, college admissions, and career changes, and creating a new home for her family, she finds that she treasures the ordinary, unremarkable moments of everyday life the most - the very moments she once hardly noticed at all. Her moving story will help every woman make peace with life's inevitable changes. Dinner Event:Friday, December 2nd at 6:30 p.m.The Menu:Salad:  Satsuma oranges on greens w/toasted pistachios and carrot ginger dressing Soup:  Jerusalem artichoke and rocket Entree:  Chicken baked on sweet potato RostiorBalsamic roasted Seitan w/mushrooms and shallots Dessert:  Meringues Chantilly w/ raspberry sauce orSweet and salty cake$35.00  per personor  $50.oo with wine Call 474-1880 to make your reservation today!
